The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA)/Farm Service Agency/Kansas City Commodity Office is planning for the procurement of runner-type raw shelled peanuts for use in USDA Food Distribution Programs. An open meeting for any interested stakeholders will be held in Albany, Georgia on December 4, 2014. Mr. Ray Boyd, Senior Contracting Officer, will be giving a presentation on the anticipated procurements and how individuals and companies can submit bids/offers in response to future USDA solicitations. There will also be a period of time set aside for a question and answer session.
Dr. Kerry Smith, Director of the USDA Agriculture Marketing Service (AMS) Science and Technology Program, Laboratory Approval and Testing Division, and members of her staff, will also be participating in the event. Dr. Smith and her staff will explain and discuss the analytical testing requirements for total Aflatoxin in raw shelled peanuts being purchased for the program.
Note that pursuant to Agricultural Acquisition Regulation 470.103(b), commodities and the products of agricultural commodities acquired under this contract must be a product of the United States, and shall be considered to be such a product if it is grown, processed, and otherwise prepared for sale or distribution exclusively in the United States.
