The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Center for Environmental Health (NCEH), Division of Laboratory Science (DLS), intends to award a sole source contract to Thermo Electron North America (TENA), LLC, 665 Molly Lane, Suite 140, Woodstock, GA 30189.

The statutory authority for this sole source acquisition is 10 U.S.C 2304(c)(1) in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1- only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirement. The NAICS code for this procurement is 334516, Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing.

The purpose of this acquisition is to purchase from TENA an Agilent 7890 gas chromatograph and associated installation hardware. The estimated period of performance for this acquisition is 90 from the date the order is placed.

TENA is the only organization that is capable of meeting the Government's requirement because the items requestedd are to be used to upgrade an existing Thermo Electro DFS gas chromatogrphy mass spectrometry system. The DFS mass Spectrometer system installation hardware parets are manufactured exclusively by Thermo Electron and will be used to install the purchased Agilent 7890 to the current crhomatography, which was specifically built in order to add the additional gas chromatograph.

As a result of this synopsis, no competitive solicitation will be posted on FedBizOpps. We will issue only one solicitation to Thermo Electron Norh America, LLC. However, all responsible sources that believe they can meet these requirements may submit their capabilities/qualifications statement to provide the services to Sondra Page via email ONLY at [email protected] with the solicitation number 2010-Q-12675 referenced in the subject line NO LATER THAN August 18th, 2010.

A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action will be based on responses to this notice and are solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
