THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT, NOT A REQUEST FOR A PROPOSAL. A SOLICITATION DOCUMENT WILL NOT BE ISSUED AND PROPOSALS WILL NOT BE REQUESTED. The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), Office of Acquisitions (OA), for the Laboratory of Molecular Biophysics (LMB), intends to negotiate and award a purchase order on a noncompetitive sole source basis to Bruker BioSpin Corporation, 15 Fortune Drive, Billerica MA.,01821. to purchase a Full Service including Annual Maintenance on the below equipment. The annual service contract will include the following: Items (1) Bruker System ID BH04684, AV SingleBay 2 Channel 600, Item (2) CryoPlatform, no serial number, Item (3) Probes Accessories CP TXI 600S3 H-C/N-D-05Z part/serial number Z44866/00084. The service contract is for a twelve-month period. The service contract shall include one preventive maintenance per year and unlimited emergency calls. The sole source determination is based upon the fact that the equipment is manufactured by Bruker BioSpin and only the manufacture is authorized to provide maintenance service. This acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition procedures. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 811219, and Size Standard $7.0 Million is applicable to this requirement. The Small Business set-aside does not apply. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this requirement. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct future competitive procurement.
