The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), Office of Acquisitions (OA), for the Laboratory of Molecular Biophysics (LMB), intends to negotiate and award a purchase order on a noncompetitive sole source basis to Bruker BioSpin Corporation, 15 Fortune Drive, Billerica MA.,01821. To purchase an on-site service agreement including one preventative maintenance on the below equipment. The annual service contract will include the following: Items (1) Bruker System ID BH046804, AV SingleBay 2 Channel 600, Item (2) CryoPlatform, no serial number, Item (3) Probes Accessories CP TXI 600S3 H-C/N-D-05Z part/serial number Z44866/00084. The service contract is for a twelve month period; with period of performance 1September 2010 thru 31 August 2011. The sole source determination is based upon the fact that the equipment is manufactured by Bruker BioSpin and due to the proprietary design of the cryogenic probe attached to the spectrometer only Bruker Biospin is authorized to provide a service agreement. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 811219, and Size Standard $7.0 Million is applicable to this requirement. The Small Business set-aside does not apply. The reference number for this notice is NHLBI-PB-(HL)-2010-230-DDCThe resultant acquisition will be conducted in accordance with FAR Part 13, simplified acquisition procedures and the resultant purchase order will include all applicable provisions and clauses in effect through the Federal Acquisition Circular 05-44. The notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this requirement, or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals.
