NASA/MSFC has a requirement for one (1) year Preventative Maintenance to be used in the support of EM42 Lab.

NASA/MSFC intends to purchase the one year service of Preventative maintenance and support to Arcam on a sole source basis.

The MSFC EM42 Nonmetals manufacturing Branch has sole proprietary to the technologies involved with Electron Beam Melting (EBM) process. Arcam has the capability to perform the hardware and software maintenance, yet maintains compatibility with peripheral hardware and software systems. Regular preventative maintenance of the EBM equipment is necessary to retain compliance with ISO9001 equipment calibration standards.

The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.

Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 05/05/2016 by 2:00 p.m. CST. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.
