NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announces its intention to negotiate and issue a sole source award for the requirement of 14 Indian Rhesus Macaques with the California National Primate Research Center (CNPRC), University of California at Davis. The purpose of the study is to investigate the efficacy of intermittent PrEP modalities containing FTC, tenofovir, and entry, integrase or protease inhibitors. The Contractor will perform the following tasks:
1-. Two-dose intermittent PrEP with Truvada and integrase inhibitor administered before and after virus exposure (n = 6).
2-. Two-dose intermittent PrEP with truvada and entry inhibitor administered before and after virus exposure (n = 6).
3-. Control untreated macaques (n = 3).
The anticipated period of performance will be 12 months from the award date. The California National Primate Researcher Center is the only source to provide the specific quantity, type, and critical timeframe deemed necessary by CDC. CDC intends to negotiate this requirement under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (1). The sole source procurement will be awarded as a simplified acquisition in accordance with FAR Subpart 13 procedures. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination to compete this procurement based on a response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Interested parties who believe they possess the capabilities to satisfy this requirement should submit a capability statement demonstrating their abilities to meet this requirement.
