This is a notice of intent, not a request for a proposal. A solicitation document will not be issued and proposals will not be requested.
The National Institute of Drug Abuse (NIDA) Station Support/Simplified Acquisition (SS/SA) Branch, on behalf of the National Institute of Neurological Disorder and Stroke (NINDS) intends to negotiate and award a sole source purchase order to Tecniplast, USA, P.O. Box 1457, Exton, PA 19341-1340, to provide labor and parts needed to maintain automatic water bottle washing/filing system, and rack washer. The bottle washer/filler is used to decap, clean and refill water bottles in the animal facility cage wash facility. The rack is used to clean and sanitize animal’s racks, carts, and all large items. The Tunnel washer are used to clean and sanitize animal cages, tops and wire bar lids as they come out of the animal facility. Preventive maintenance for the two (2) tunnel washers to be included after installation of the units between December 2010 through September 30, 2011.
Tecniplast, USA is the manufacturer of the water bottle/filler, rack washer, and tunnel washers that were installed in the building animal facility. The vendor requires that only Tecniplast, USA , staff service the equipment.
The acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition using FAR 12 procedures and is exempt from the requirement of FAR Part 6, Competition Requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this synopsis. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon response to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government.
