The City of Seaside is seeking manufacturers of prefabricated homes to provide a proposal for the design, production, and installation of a prefabricated home to serve as a permanent affordable housing unit and as a part of the City’s Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) Demonstration Project. The proposed contract will include the design, production, and installation of (1) one prefabricated ADU between 300 to 500 sq. ft. based on the criteria articulated in this RFP. The City is also open to receiving proposals for traditionally-built modular homes, and panelized products, assuming the manufacturer is capable of assembling the unit on-site without relying on a local contractor. Selected Manufacturer shall produce drawings that successfully articulate the design (including any potential design options) and show compliance with all required design criteria. Selected Manufacturer shall produce the prefabricated building per the approved drawings and any prefabricated design options at the discretion of the City. Selected Manufacturer shall coordinate with the contractor completing the site preparation to appropriately sequence the installation of the prefabricated building and utility connections.
