Summary The Project will consist of furnishing all labor, materials, tools, equipment, services, supervision, and incidentals necessary to install the landscaping replacement planting and irrigation system, and perform a 3‐year Plant Establishment Period (PEP) for landscape and irrigation maintenance along along Mathilda Avenue, including US-101 and Mathilda Avenue interchange on- and off-ramp areas, from Almanor Avenue to Moffett Park Drive in Santa Clara County, City of Sunnyvale (Location 1) and along the northbound interstate 280 (I-280) exit ramp to Foothill Expressway in Santa Clara County, City of Los Altos (Location 2). 2. Background The State of California, Department of Transportation (Caltrans), in cooperation with the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA), is proposing landscaping and irrigation improvements on locations listed in Summary. The improvements are intended to restore and improve vegetation conditions in the areas impacted by previous roadway improvements projects, “Mathilda Avenue Improvements at SR 237 and US 101 Project”, EA 04-4H290, and “Northbound I-280/Foothill Expressway Ramp Improvements”, EA 04-4G680, respectively. 3.
