The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Tecan U.S., Inc. for the procurement of Tecan Fluent 780 Liquid Handler. The Tecan Fluent 780 Liquid Handler is a high-density pipettor designed to perform rapid, high-precision liquid transfers. The system can be configured to contain up to three independent pipettor arms, making it very versatile for automation of laboratory procedures for next-generation sequencing (NGS), including library preparation, PCR clean-up and sample pooling. Fluent Tecan 780 was found to be the only fluid handler that could be customized with of all the features we require for automating our NGS protocols. These features include multiple head units (spanning 8-channel which can transfer volumes as low at 0.5 uL, and 96-well head units), on-board thermocycler, plate reader, ability to install third-party devices below the worktable (saving space), and deck capacity for completing multiple NGS procedures in one run and/or for installing additional labware/units as needed. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1).. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals.

This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within ten (10) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
