The purpose of this activity is to improve the capacity and effectiveness of governmental and non-governmental actors whose charge it is to protect Mexican journalists and human rights and environmental defenders, supporting an enabling environment in which they can safely, without fear of harm or harassment, foster an informed civic space, promote transparency, and hold governmental authorities accountable, as described in Section C.
