STATEMENT OF WORK EFFECTIVE DATE: 14 October 2007 to 30 September 2008 CONTRACT: Organist/Pianist in support of the Roman Catholic Services for St. Thomas Aquinas Chapel, Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, California. Services to be provided: Organ or Piano in support of the Catholic Chapel Music Program. Provisions of Contract: 1. The Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, California hereby contracts for the services of an Organist/Pianist in support of the Catholic Music Program under the following guidelines: a. The Contractor (Organist/Pianist) will provide music in support of: 1) One Sunday Mass (1X52) 1000-1100 = 52 2) Choir Rehearsals (Thursdays 1900-2030) = 52 3) Holy Days of Obligation Masses = 8 4) Midnight Mass (0001-0100) = 1 5) Holy Week Masses = 3 6) Thanksgiving Day Mass (1000) = 1 b. Listing of Holy Days of Obligation: 1) 01 NOV All Saints (1 Mass: 1800) 2) Immaculate Conception (1 Mass: 1800) 3) 25 DEC Christmas (2 Masses: 0001/1000) 4) Mary, Mother of God (1 Mass: 1000) 5) Ash Wednesday (1 Mass: 1800) 6) Ascension (1 Mass: 1800) 7) Assumption (1 Mass: 1800) c. Listing of Holy Week Masses: 1) Holy Thursday (1 Mass: 1800) 2) Good Friday (1 Mass: 1800) 3) Easter Vigil (1 Mass: 2000-2200) 4) Rehearsal for the Holy Day Masses (3 rehearsals) d. Special Services (Memorial, Ecumenical) 1) The contractor must be available for memorial/funeral services on a 24 hour notice. 2) No more than eight (8) special services are required. 2. The contractor agrees to provide music the entire 52 weeks of the contract, and will subcontract duties to another suitable accompanist when contractor is not available. Prior arrangements must be made in order to provide the substitute access to NPS. 3. QUALIFICATIONS: The contractor must: „X Be able to read four-line staff music as well as normal choral music. „X Have knowledge of church music and be familiar with the Catholic liturgical year and music appropriate to it. „X Play the organ and the piano; electronic keyboard experience is desirable. „X Be an accomplished musician with experience working in close cooperation with Christian chaplains and choir directors. „X Be able to supply appropriate prelude and postlude music without direction. 4. Normally the Contractor will provide contracted services at the St. Thomas Aquinas Chapel, Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, CA. However, the contractor may be required to provide contracted services in other chapels or NPS buildings under special circumstances. Period of Performance The period of performance of this contract shall be from 12 October 2007 to 30 September 2008. Labor Contractor will be paid a total for the above period of performance, to be paid monthly, upon electronic submission of invoices.
