The City of Morgantown (City) is soliciting Proposals from qualified playground equipment manufacturers and/or vendors (Vendors) to provide playground equipment and a maximum of two (2) conceptual layout plan and renderings at the Woodburn Community Playground, as detailed in this Request for Proposals (RFP). The layout plan and renderings, equipment, and installation for the Woodburn Community Playground is being funded through Morgantown’s Community Development Block Grant program. The type and quantity of equipment desired is described in this RFP. Installation is not included under this RFP and will be procured separately. In general, the City is seeking unique play equipment with engaging features and high play value that will encourage physical activity and enhance motor skill development. Equipment design must meet the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and utilize International Playground Equipment Manufacturers Association (IPEMA) certified equipment that meets or exceeds all federal and state guidelines and conforms to the playground-related technical standards set by the American Society of Testing Materials International (ASTM) and the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission. The City will hire, under a separate procurement process, a General Contractor(s) to perform play area modifications which will include demolition and removal of existing play equipment, preparation of site, and installation of new equipment and surfaces. The selected Vendor under this RFP will be required to coordinate the delivery of the selected playground equipment with the City’s designated representative. Vendors are invited to submit Proposals with playground equipment, and conceptual layout plan and renderings for the playground location identified in this RFP. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held for all interested Vendors. The meeting will be held virtually on November 15, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. via Zoom. Please contact Vanessa Reaves at
[email protected] for the Zoom meeting login information. A site visit will not be held, however, interested vendors are encouraged to review the location to familiarize themselves with the park and playground area. View the full RFP in the related documents section of this posting.
