US NAVAL MEDICAL RESEARCH UNIT 6 (NAMRU-6) in Lima Peru is requiring the service of an institution to study the factors associated with Plasmodium vivax relapses and P. vivax and P. falciparum treatment failure in Iquitos Peru.
The institution must have a confirmed long-term collaborative agreement with Medical Research Institutions in Iquitos which should include strong laboratory infrastructure relationship, development and partnership.
The institution must also provide a dataset of individuals (2000) in a local community.
Under the terms of this agreement the prospective contractor will provide NAMRU-6 personnel with laboratory access, laboratory equipment use, laboratory space to store shared freezers, and collaborate with NAMRU-6 personnel to analyze samples from the region during the period of performance.
DELIVERABLES:
• The contractor will provide NAMRU-6 personnel access to the local research institution samples when required for collaborative analysis.
• The contractor will provide 1000 hours of laboratory access to NAMRU-6 personnel.
• The contractor will provide space for (1)-80 freezer.
• The contractor will allow NAMRU-6 personnel to use laboratory equipment at the local institution after NAMRU-6 personnel have completed required training (where appropriate) or demonstrate proficiency through other means (experience etc.).
