REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS REFINISHING THE HISTORIC PLACERVILLE SCHOOLHOUSE FLOORING Project Description Location: 400 Front St. Placerville, CO 81430 Square footage: 960 The San Miguel County Parks & Open Space department is seeking qualified bidders to refinish the entire historic wood floor surfaces of the historic Placerville Schoolhouse, 400 Front Street, Placerville, CO 81430. The project will include all preparations necessary to refinish the floor and protect the historic nature of the wood. The contractor must match the existing historic wood floor look, as close as possible to existing conditions. Contractor must also provide all labor and materials necessary to complete the job. Refinishing must be completed by December 1st, 2024. The 960 square foot, one-room schoolhouse was used for over 50 years from the early 1900’s eventually closing down in 1960. Today the historic schoolhouse in Placerville Park gives our community a space to reserve for meetings, gatherings and other permitted special events. Scope of Services San Miguel County requests proposals include: Temporarily move the piano, armoire, tables, table rack and chair rack to a safe and protected location prior to cleaning surface and preparing wood floor. Carefully wash or brush all floor surfaces Sand and prepare wooden floor. Note: The original wood floor has some small cracks and a few exposed nail heads. Take extra care sanding the original wood floor in the main area. The wood in the entrance area, near the bathrooms and up to the double doors, is newer and sanding should not be an issue.) Resurface and coat the wooden floor with two coats of a high-quality clear finish Extra care should be taken to protect historic floor, trim and walls Clean up after project completion, the schoolhouse should be in visitor ready condition A site pre-bid visit at the schoolhouse location is mandatory in order to respond to this RFP. Name of firm and complete contact information. Include the resumes of personnel who will be working on this project. 2. A general statement of qualifications and at least three (3) examples of similar completed projects that have been completed by the firm or personnel who will be working on this project. 3. Outline a general schedule for completion of the Scope of Services. 4. Fees for services described in the Scope of Services. 5. Submission Deadline: No later than 5 p.m. on Friday, September 6. Bids must be submitted to Greg Pollio either via email or physically dropped off by the RFP submission deadline. Upon award, this contract will define the project, the term and services to be performed. This is a legal-binding document between the contractor and San Miguel County.
