The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to issue a sole source purchase order to Rainin Instrument, LLC, 7500 Edgewater Drive, Oakland, CA 94621-3027 for a (Item 1) Benchtop Pipetting System, Mdl. #LIQ-96-200/96,5-200uL, 2 Each and (Item 2) Liquidator, 96 Tips, Mdl. #LQR-200, 5-20uL, 100 Boxes.
This Pipetting system is capable of pipetting accurate and precise volumes of sample without risk of missing and doubling rows within plates. The system allows the user to easily change and lock-in volume settings without the risk of drift. Using the Liquidator 96-channel pipetting system enables our laboratory methods to be easily transferred to collaborating laboratories both domestic and international.

CDC anticipates soliciting and awarding a purchase order only one known source, Rainin Instrument, LLC.
The statutory authority permitting other-than-full-and-open competition is 41 U.S.C., 253(c)(1): FAR 6.302-1. Only one responsible source and no other services will satisfy agency requirements. No solicitation is being issued.
