The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Center for Environmental Health (NCEH), Division of Laboratory Sciences, intends to award a sole source contract to PerkinElmer Health Sciences, Inc, 710 Bridgeport Avenue, Shelton CT, 06484-4794 for preventative and remedial maintenance of the PerkinElmer scientific instrumentation that are no longer covered by warranties for the Division os Laboratory Sciences, NCEH/CDC. The statutory authority for this sole source acquisition is 10 U.S.C 2304(c)(1) in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1 - only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements. The NAICS code for this procurement is 811219, Other Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance with a size standard of 19 million dollars. The period of performance for this procurement is based period at 12 months with four (4) one (1) year option periods. PerkinElmer is the sole manufacturer of the PerkinElmer scientific instrumentation that we need to have maintained; therefore, they are the primary provider of factory certified parts and equipment needed for repairs/maintenance, and they will have the most expert information on how to repair these complex chemical analysis instrumentation. The service engineers with PerkinElmer are highly experienced with the equipment itself and with understanding the critical requirements in place due to our Division's emergency response duties. Additionally their engineers have been factory trained and certified for repairs and maintenance of PerkinElmer instrumentation as well as the SC4-DX FAST autosamplers on this equipment list which are manufactured by Elemental Scientific Inc. PerkinElmer has proven to be knowledgeable, reliable, and efficient regarding installation, repair, and maintenance of their scientific instrumentation As a result of this synopsis, no competitive solicitation will be posted on FedBizOpps. We will issue only one solicitation to the PerkinElmer.
