SERVICE CONTRACT OF INDUCTIVELY COUPLED PLASMA MASS SPECTROPHOTOMETER NEXION300Q NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLICIT FROM A SINGLE SOURCE This is a notice of intent to solicit from a single source for the USGS Earth System Processes Division (ESPD), Menlo Park, CA. The US Geological Survey (USGS) intends to award a Purchase Order to Perkin Elmer in Shelton, CT for a one-year service agreement for an Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrophotometer NexION 300Q, serial No. 81QN3041602 (ICP-MS) from 08/15/2020-11/14/2021. Perkin Elmer has proprietary rights that render them the only vendor with access to proprietary information and parts. Perkin Elmer verifies the performance of each component part, spare part, and software. It offers technical support, upgrades and engineering resources to maintain the original operating specifications for the instrument. Perkin Elmer is the only company certified and factory trained engineers available to service the instrument. All responsible sources may submit a quote which shall be considered by the agency. Specifications: 15-month service contract: Period of Performance 08/15/2020-11/14/2021 Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrophotometer NexION 300Q, serial No. 81QN3041602 (ICP-MS) The service contract will cover parts, travel, remote support and labor costs for routine maintenance to keep the instrument functioning optimally. In addition, the service contract includes 1 preventive maintenance visit. Award will be made in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106-1(b) and the procedures at FAR Part 12 entitled, Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR Part 13 entitled, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The USGS requires a 15-month service contract for an Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrophotometer NexION 300Q, serial No. 81QN3041602 (ICP-MS) from 08/15/2020-11/14/2021 already in possession at the USGS Earth System Processes Division.
