Background and Need - Prior to publication in the NIOSH Manual of Analytical Methods (NMAM), all submitted methods are required to undergo a User Check, or a secondary laboratory validation. This acquisition is being pursued for two proposed methods that were developed here at NIOSH in the Biomonitoring and Health Assessment Branch. These two methods are, NIOSH 8326 - S-Benzylmercapturic acid and S-phenylmercapturic acid in urine and NIOSH 8327 - Cyclophosphamide, 4-ketocyclophosphamide and ifosfamide in urine.
Project Objective - The purpose of the acquisition is to fulfill all the requirements of User Checks as set forth by the NMAM Team. The results of the acquisition will be an independent review and validation of each of the proposed NIOSH methods which will allow their publication in the NMAM and increase their dissemination in the scientific community.
