The PEPFAR Coordinator, reporting to the Chief of Mission or Deputy Chief of Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), will assume responsibility for managing critical communications between and among the various USG departments and agencies involved in the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) in DRC, communicating routinely with the Office of the U.S. Global AIDS Coordinator (OGAC), particularly the DRC Country Support Team Lead and interagency core team, designated Embassy counterparts, and with representatives of the PEPFAR DRC USG implementing agencies. The PEPFAR Country Coordinator will serve as the senior USG representative for HIV and AIDS to national and development partner forums, including the Health Donor Group (GIBS). Furthermore, the PEPFAR Coordinator will work in collaboration with the US Government Global Fund Liaison in matters related to HIV and AIDS grants under the Global Fund, as managed by the Country Coordinating Mechanism. The incumbent provides advice and counsel to the U.S. Chief of Mission on all matters related to HIV and AIDS in DRC.
