The President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) Country Coordinator (“the Coordinator”) in Angola is responsible for the leadership, facilitation of the PEPFAR interagency country team management, coordination of the strategy and implementation planning as well as communications among the U.S. Government (USG) departments agencies (State Department, Centers for Disease Control Prevention (CDC), Department of Defense (DOD) and (USAID) United States Agency for International Development) involved in the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) in Angola. The Coordinator receives direction from the U.S. Ambassador to Angola on policy and decision-making authority from the Global Health Security and Diplomacy/PEPFAR (GHSD/PEPFAR). The incumbent provides leadership and facilitation to the PEPFAR Angola interagency team for all aspects of PEPFAR to include but not limited to policy, technical, budgetary, managerial and operational. The incumbent collaborates with the U.S. Embassy, the Government Republic of Angola (GRA), the Global Fund and GHSD/PEPFAR to ensure achievement, not only of the primary HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment and care goals of PEPFAR as applicable to the Angolan context, but also the public health sustainability and health diplomacy goals of PEPFAR.
