This is a request for quote (RFQ). The United States Mint at West Point wishes to procure a penny packing product to assist with the packaging of 600,000 pennies.

A need is anticipated for the United States Mint at West Point (USM). Upon award, the finished product is required to be delivered in full and ready for full operation

REQUIRED PRODUCT:

1). Our desired end product is: individually wrapped pennies.

2). The wrap MUST be clear, plastic, - on both sides.

3). Individual package MUST NOT be greater in size than 2.5" x 2.5" (square)

4). Plastic thickness: 2 to 3 mil

5). With the proposed packaging system, we must be able to process - at a minimum - 60 pennies (or more) per minute.

6). Given the above point at (point #4) - the use of hoppers for the purpose of holding / feeding coins is NOT allowed.

7. Pennies must not acquire any scratches on them as a result of the packaging process. These pennies are "proof" or "numismatic, and are targeted for coin collectors.

In response to this RFQ, please provide:

1. Full pricing of packaging end item product to include freight or shipping and handling charges if necessary.

2. An anticipated delivery date must be provided.

3. Payment terms will be adhere to NET 30.

4. Please include the Solicitation# USM-WP-PENNY in your RFQ response.

5. Please note that the United States Mint is exempt from the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). In accordance with 31 U.S.C. § 5136, provisions of law governing procurement or public contracts shall not be applicable to the procurement of goods or services necessary for carrying out Mint programs and operations.
