The contract to be awarded as the result of this solicitation is for sapling thinning, ladder fuel reduction by hand (typically chainsaw), hand-piling pullback, lop/scatter, pruning and associated treatments in compliance with the terms, specifications, and provisions herein.

The contract shall be performed on the Naches Ranger District, Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, Washington State. The Awardee shall furnish all labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, operating supplies and incidentals necessary to successfully complete performance of the awarded contract as provided in the text of this document, the Detailed Unit Information Sheets and Project Vicinity and Area Maps, except those items, if any, listed as Government-furnished property.

Due to closures of temporary roads or other blocked access, walk-in access may be required to some units. The Contractor shall determine the distance and geographic location of units' walk-in access, where necessary. Potential Quoters are strongly encouraged to tour and personally evaluate the work requirements and conditions. Only by a physical inspection of the work areas can the Quoter become aware of existing on-ground conditions. Quoters are required to know the contract areas and quote accordingly.

In no case shall failure of the Awardee to have toured the work-sites prior to submitting their quote constitute valid grounds for filing of a claim against the government.
