THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. Reference #: N0025917N0074. Naval Medical Center San Diego intends to award a firm fixed price sole source contract under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), only one responsible source, to: Cerus Corporation; 2550 Stanwell Dr.; Concord, CA, 94520-4813. The objective of this sole source award is to acquire two (2) Cerus INTERCEPT Pathogen Reduction Systems.

CLIN 0001: Cerus Illuminator, Part #: INT100-60; Quantity: 2; Unit of Issue: Each; Shipping is to be included with the price of the system.

Salient Characteristics must include:
1. Pathogen reduction system
2. Be U.S. Food and Drug Administration FDA (510K clearance) approved
3. Be comprised of single-use plasma processing sets, and an ultraviolet (UVA) illumination device for the ex vivo preparation and storage of pathogen-reduced, whole blood-derived or apheresis plasma

Cerus Corporation is the sole distributor of the needed items. The NAICS code for this requirement is 334510; the small business size standard is 1,250 (# of employees). This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however, interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. All information received by 3:30 PM Pacific Time on May 29, 2017 may be considered by the Government. Responses shall be submitted to Gilberto Esteves at [email protected]. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
