The required metabolic measurement systems will be used to collect measurements of oxygen uptake, carbon dioxide production, anaerobic threshold, ventilation and respiratory exchange ratio during both maximal and submaximal aerobic exercise tests.
ParvoMedics, Inc. has been identified as the manufacturer and only source for the TrueOne 2400 metabolic measurement system. ParvoMedics TrueOne 2400 metabolic measurement systems are currently in use by USARIEM across three research divisions, and all of the systems currently being used for research protocols must measure the same variables in an identical manner. This ensures efficiency and expeditious data collection, limits scientific variables by reducing controls, and maintains scientific integrity through the course of the ongoing multi-year research studies. The U.S. Army Research Institute of Environmental Medicine currently has 21 TrueOne systems. To ensure the validity and consistency of the research studies, the measurements made using this device must harmonize with current measurements already being performed at the lab using the previously purchased ParvoMedics devices.
The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 334516 and FSC 6630.
