The Aerospace Fuels Laboratory (AFPET/PTPLE) located at Vandenberg AFB, CA has a requirement for a particle counting
microscope. This microscope should have the ability to count particles on filters from 5 microns to over 1000 microns on filter
paper and perform investigative analysis for quantifying and identifying particles.
Minimum Reqquirements -
1. Be a confocal microscope capable of counting particles per ASTM F312 and F24
i. a benchtop sized instrument with a maximum depth of 22 inches, a maximum height of 27 inches for all parts/accessories
ii. configured for standard 120V single phase, 60Hz electricity
2. Be equipped with an automatic stage for incrementally moving the microscope stage in the x and y directions with a joystick.
3. Be equipped with an ergonomic eyepiece and ergonomic knobs
4. Be equipped with bright field, dark field, polarized light and interference contrast as well as directional dark field light
5. Be able to save light settings for future use
6. Be able to acquire and process images for particle counting
7. Have an auto calibration option.
8. Equipped with a color camera, computer and monitor capable of panoramic imaging
9. Include a 5X, 10X and 20X objective
10. Two year warranty after receipt
