NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE FOR PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR OF AN OXFORD AZTEC ENERGY DISPERSIVE X-RAY SPECTROMETER (EDS)


This is a NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT using Federal Acquisition Regulation FAR 13.106-1(b) (1). The US Army Contracting Command - Aberdeen Proving Ground (ACC-APG) Tenant Division, 6001 Combat Drive, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD 21005-1846; has a requirement to procure the following service:

The Edgewood Chemical Biological Forensic Analytical Center (EC/B FAC) requires preventative maintenance support, on-site repairs, online technical support, and telephone assistance to resolve technical problems. This is A non-personal services contract to provide routine preventive maintenance and as-needed repair of an Oxford Aztec Energy Dispersive X-Ray Spectrometer (EDS). Hardware is to be repaired on an "as needed" basis.

The Government intends to award a Firm-Fixed Price sole source contract to Oxford Instruments America, Inc., 300 Baker Avenue, Suite 150 Concord, MA 01742. Oxford is the previous contract holder and due to the continued need for the maintenance and support services for the mission essential routine preventive maintenance and as-needed repair of an Oxford Aztec Energy Dispersive X-Ray Spectrometer (EDS), has been deemed critical.

The associated North America Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 811219 (Other Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance) and the Business Size Standard is $20.5M.

All responses received within five businesses (5) days after date of publication of this notice will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.

Interested persons may identify their interest and capability by responding to the requirement no later than 10:00 AM Eastern Standard Time (EST), 03 April, 2018.
