The USCG is seeking qualified sources to complete the overhaul and repair of heavy ice breaker Controllable Pitch Propellers (CPP). The USCG owns nine (9) CPP assemblies, three (3) of which are installed on the POLAR STAR (WAGB-10) at any given time. The propellers were originally manufactured by Escher Wyss, which is now a part of Andritz Hydro. Each of the CPP assemblies are comprised of four (4) blades, have a diameter of 16ft, are made of EN30B steel, and weigh approximately 88,500 lbs.

A firm-fixed price contract is anticipated for award. Anticipated POP is from FY19 - FY24. The information obtained from this notice is for market research only and will be used to determine the method of procurement including whether to set-aside the procurement for small business or other set-aside programs.
The North American Industry Classification System code (NAICS) is 336611 and the small business size standard is 1,250 employees.
