Ordnance Assessment Testing of the DODIC MT86 Canopy Remover Cartridge

This Sources Sought notice is being posted to satisfy the requirement of Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement 206.302-1(d). The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technology Division (NSWC IHEODTD), Contracts Department intends to award a contract for Ordnance Assessment Testing of the DODIC MT86 Canopy Remover Cartridge on a sole source basis with United Technologies Aerospace Systems, Inc. (UTAS), (CAGE 17610); 3530 Branscombe Rd., Fairfield, CA 94533. NSWC IHEODTD has a requirement for UTAS to conduct OA testing on the Canopy Remover Cartridges. OA Testing is required in order to determine the degradation of performance characteristics of the Canopy Remover Cartridges and if they are attributable to in-service environment and age, assess the units' safety reliability, and determine if a service life increase is feasible.

THIS IS NOT AN INVITATION FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority of 10 USC 2304(C)(1), as implemented in FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, the Government will consider all responses received to this notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement is solely within the discretion of the Government. No solicitation will be available for this procurement. Information provided herein is subject to change and in no way binds the Government to solicit or award a contract.
