Los Angeles Job Corps Center intends to issue an Invitation for Bid (IFB) for evaluted Firm Fixed Price subcontract for Optometry Services, non-personal to provide a full and through eye examination and laboratory services to fill prescriptions for glasses as required.  All eyeglasses must meet American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standards.

The YWCA of Greater Los Angeles which operates the Los Angeles Job Corps Center (LAJCC) under contract with the U.S. Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration is requesting bids to provide students Optometry Services.

The Optometrist must be licensed and certified in the State of California and is required to maintain a current professional liability policy with a limit of at least $1,000,000 per occurrence and aggregate insurance of $3,000,000. 

The IFB will be available on November 16, 2011.  The IFB closing date is scheduled to be December 9, 2011.  Actual dates will be identified in the IFB.

Interested offerors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database.

The award will be based on a lowest cost/price bid.

The term of the agreement will have a 2-year base period, plus (3) options for one (1) year each.

This notice is not considered to be a commitment by the LAJCC pay for the information solicited; no basis for claim against LAJCC shall arise as a result from a response to this notice or use of the information provided.
