The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), Rocky Mountain Laboratories (RML), Hamilton, MT, is seeking small business sources that can provide glassware cleaning service. The successful offeror MUST be able to furnish all management, supervision, labor, and services to necessary to receive soiled laboratory glassware and plastic ware from 5 research laboratories, segregating, cleaning, processing and returning the cleaned items to designated âpickup shelvesâ or to stock shelves in the Glassware Department at RML in Hamilton, MT. The Glassware Department is a fully equipped unit containing adequate counters, sinks, automatic washing machines, autoclaves and drying ovens. Items cleaned or processed by the unit are a broad variety of laboratory glassware, plastic ware and instruments, some of which are small and/or very delicate and require special handling. A sampling of the items is as follows: bottles, jars, aspirator jugs, pipettes, tubes, caps, Petri dishes, flasks, beakers, volumetric, graduated cylinders, magnetic stirring bars, syringes, surgical instruments, etc., and thus there is considerable hand work involved. It is expected that all work be performed in a highly professional manner to meet the standards for cleanliness and/or sterility required by the research laboratories for all items processed in the glassware department. All utilities, equipment and supplies needed to perform the tasks encompassed by this contract will be supplied by the Government. NIAID intends to award a one year fixed-price contract beginning on or about November 1, 2008 with the option for four additional contract years. This is not a request for proposals.
