This is a Notice of Intent to Award Sole Source to Phillips Corp for an OMAX 55100 Waterjet for the USAF. A waterjet is a critical piece of shop equipment that fabricates parts from metal sheets. It can produce unique, low-volume parts for aircraft.

Based on the Air Force Metals Technology Office, Name Brand Equipment Source Justification for Procurement for Abrasive Waterjet Systems Memo, dated 08 December 2021, OMAX is the only brand of waterjets allowed for purchase.  Efforts to identify an authorized vendor for the OMAX waterjet revealed that OMAX assigns vendors by region and has authorized only Phillips Corp., a large business, to distribute OMAX products to the federal government. Based on the findings this will be a Sole Source award to a large business. IAW FAR 6.305(a) a  Sole Source Justification notice will be posted within 14 days of Award.
