THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT, NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. A SOLICITATION DOCUMENT WILL NOT BE ISSUED AND PROPOSALS WILL NOT BE REQUESTED.
The National Institutes of Health, Clinical Center (NIH CC) Pharmacy Department, intends to enter into a contract on a sole source basis, under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253 (c) (2) and FAR 6.302-2(a) (2) (ii) and HHSAR 306.302-2 (a) (2) (ii), a contract, entitled  This contract is necessary to provide daily diagnostic clinical services to patients at the Clinical Center.

The Clinical Center (CC), Department of  Radiology and Imaging Sciences plans to procure, on a sole source basis, maintenance services for proprietary Powerscribe Voice Recognition System with Nuance 3984 Pepsi Cola Drive Melbourne,FL 32934.

This acquisition will be processed under FAR Part 12 - Acquisition for Commercial Items and will be made pursuant to the authority in FAR 13.106-1(b)(2) and 13.501-(a)(1) to use simplified procedures for commercial acquisitions. The North American Industry Classification System Code is 811219 and the business size standard is $19m.

Only one award will be made as a result of this contract action. This will be a firm fixed price type contract not-to-exceed $49003.36. Immediate delivery is expected following contract award.

The purpose of the procurement is to extend the existing service maintenance contract for the Nuance PowerScribe System until it is replaced by a new dictation due to be installed in the second quarter of 2012. The Powerscribe sytem is integral to the current Radiology and Imaging Sciences clinical services.
