Subject to conditions prescribed by the University of California, Los Angeles, sealed bids for a lump sum contract are invited for the following work: This Project shall renovate 1,600 GSF of an existing rodent vivarium, to prepare the space for the relocation of an existing primate population. The remodeled space shall consolidate the primate housing and research functions into one location. The scope of Work shall include the following: selective demolition; the selective removal and replacement of the concrete slab to add additional plumbing drains; reconfiguration of room partitions; upgrade of lighting; reestablishment of existing utilities. Existing finishes shall be replaced, including doors, flooring, epoxy flooring, ceilings, casework, and signage. The Project shall replace existing non-functioning air control valves, effected ducts and diffusers. Electrical power systems shall be reconfigured to the new floor plan. Code-required upgrades to fire/life safety systems in the Project area and repairs to building finishes impacted by the Work are also included in the Project scope.
