NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS ON PRELIMINARY DETERMINATION TO ISSUE BONDS AND ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION Pursuant to Indiana Code 6-1.1-20-3.1, notice is hereby given that the Board of Directors ("Board") of the Merrillville Conservancy District ("District") will meet at 5:00 p.m. on November 7, 2022 and at 5:00 p.m. on November 14, 2022, at 6251 Broadway, Merrillville, Indiana, to conduct two public hearings to discuss and hear objections and support regarding the proposed construction of certain additions and improvements to the sewage works in the Conservancy District ("Project"), and the incidental expenses in connection therewith and the issuance of bonds therefor, and to consider the adoption of a resolution making a preliminary determination to issue bonds to finance the construction of the Project. You are invited to attend and participate in the public hearings. Notice is further given to the taxpayers of the District that the Board will conduct a public hearing and consider the following additional appropriation of the bonds of the District: an appropriation in the amount not to exceed $13,500,000 on account of the cost of the construction of the Project. The funds to meet such additional appropriation are to be provided by the issuance and sale of bonds by the District. The foregoing appropriation is in addition to all appropriations provided for in the existing budget and tax levy. Taxpayers of the District appearing at said meeting shall have the right to be heard in respect to said additional appropriation.
