NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT- THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. The U.S. Department of Energy, Western Area Power Administration (WAPA), Desert Southwest Regional Office (DSW), intends to award a sole source contract under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), to Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. (SEL), 2350 NE Hopkins Court, Pullman, WA, 99163, 509-332-1890, for the following brand-name SEL items: SEL 735 Power Quality & Revenue Meter and SEL 311L Relay. The basis for this sole source award is outlined in the Single Source Justification attached. All responsible sources may identify their interest by submitting a capability statement in response to this requirement, which shall be considered by the agency. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes or proposals. No solicitation will be posted.
