The US Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis (IAW FAR 13.106) with Eppendorf North America, 102 Motor Parkway Suite 410, hauppauge, NY 11788, as the only responsible source that can provide Clean In Place (CIP) Conversion Kit for the Eppendorf 60 Liter BioFlo Pro Bioreactor manufactured by Eppendorf.
The Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) has a need for one Clean In Place (CIP) Conversion Kit for the Eppendorf 60 Liter BioFlo Pro Bioreactor. The CIP conversion kit will be used on an Eppendorf Bioreactor already owned by the WRAIR, and the conversion kits must be compatible with that piece of equipment.

This acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition procedures. There are no set-aside restrictions for this requirement. The intended procurement will be classified under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 334516 with a Small Business Size Standard of 1000 employees. This announcement fulfills the synopsis requirements under FAR 5.102(a)(6) and 5.203(a). USAMRAA intends to publish a solicitation no sooner than 15 days after publishing this synopsis. This Special Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive quotes. Information received in response to this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether a competitive procurement is in the best interest of the Government. If no written responses are received by the date listed below, which reflects at least fifteen (15) days after the publication of this notice, the solicitation will be issued as brand name sole source only.

Based on the above information, the only technically acceptable system is provided by Eppendorf North America.
