The MCI East Cherry Point Satellite Contracting Office, Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS), Cherry Point, NC 28533 hereby gives notice of their intent to award a purchase order to Carl Zeiss Industrial Metrology LLC (Cage Code: 1DUR9 or 67144) on a sole source basis in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 13.106-1(b)(i), only one source reasonably available and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.

This procurement is to provide the Zeiss Care Complete Package to include the Preventative Maintenance and Accuracy Verification, Calibration and CALYPSO software maintenance on the ZMC550 coordinate measuring machine (CMM) and RT05-400 Rotary Table for a period of one (1) year with two (2) twelve month option year periods at Fleet Readiness Center East (NAICS 811219 per the performance work statement).  CMMs are used to perform precision measurements and to dimensionally verify aircraft parts and fixtures to blueprint specifications.  Market research has revealed this contractor is the only authorized source capable of providing the required service.  Therefore, the government intends to procure these services on a sole source basis from Carl Zeiss Industrial Metrology LLC, the original equipment manufacturer.

THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which, if received within five (5) calendar days after the date of the publication of this notice will be considered.   Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.  A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses received as a result of this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
