NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT- THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. The U.S. Department of Energy, Western Area Power Administration (WAPA), Desert Southwest Regional Office (DSW), intends to award a sole source contract under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), to Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. (SEL), 2350 NE Hopkins Court, Pullman, WA, 99163, 509-332-1890, for the following brand-name SEL items: 0451 Protection & Automation Relay, 0487V Capacitor Protection & Control Relay and the 3610 Serial Port Server. The basis for this sole source award is outlined in the Single Source Justification attached. All responsible sources may identify their interest by submitting a capability statement in response to this requirement, which shall be considered by the agency. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes or proposals. No solicitation will be posted.
