NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE

The U.S. Maritime Administration intends to acquire on a Sole Source basis from UMOE SCHAT HARDING, INC. 912 Highway 90 East, New Iberia LA 70560-8764. services to provide and install Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) replacement parts for the Lifeboats on the Training Ship EMPIRE STATE (TSES) at the vessel's layberth, State University of New York, #6 Pennyfield Avenue, Bronx, NY 10465.

UMOE SHAT HARDING, INC. is the OEM and, as such, maintains a unique ability to provide replacement parts and service the equipment to comply with the original design specifications in order to achieve maximum performance reliability, durability and safe operation of this high speed rotating equipment.

This notice is not a request for proposals/quotes. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to satisfy the Government's requirements by emailing their Capability Statement (CS) or faxing the CS to 757-322-5858 by 1430 ET, March 26, 2012. Capability statements must include documentation establishing the ability to satisfy the Government's requirements. Any information received will be considered for the purpose of conducting a competitive procurement. Interested persons should identify their interest and capability to the Contracting Officer. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The EMPIRE STATE is a U.S. Govenrment owned training ship provided to the State University of New York Maritime Academy (SUNY Maritime) for the purpose of training young men and women for a career in the U.S. Maritime Industry.
