This is a Notice of intent to increase the ceiling of Contract N66001-11-C-4176 awarded on behalf of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency Microsystems Technology Office (DARPA MTO) on 22 September 2011 for a performance period of 12 months, with two, 12-month options. The effort under the contract is in support of the DARPA MTO interest area of timing and inertial measurement unit (TIMU) and involves research on high Q-bulk acoustic wave (BAW) resonators for its timing and sending elements. The technology to be developed in the program will also provide alternative means of accurate navigation guidance in the absence of Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) signals such as in the city limits where tall building and long tunnels obscure GPS signals. The NAICS code for this procurement is 541712 Research and Development in the Physical, Engineering, and Life Sciences (except Biotechnology). Due to the nature of Research and Development efforts, DARPA could not have reasonably estimated the results and additional needs for the research under this program. This action includes a ceiling increase of approximately $1,656,257 and additional performance of six (6) months.
