The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Alaska Science Center, has a requirement for Services, Non-personal, to provide all labor, tools, personnel, and management necessary to provide for 20 Locus Genotypes for 325 Each, Polar Bear Tissue samples and detailed information regarding quality control procedures, in accordance with the Statement of Work.
The Government intends to award this requirement noncompetitively IAW FAR 13.106-1(b),(1) to Wildlife Genetics International (WGI) Nelson, BC, Canada, for unique Polar Bear tissue sample genotyping. The contractor has genotyped a large number of tissue samples from polar bears and an important component of our research is that our data be directly comparable with similar data collected by USGS and other Polar Bear researchers. To our knowledge, there are no other efforts made to standardize the 20 loci listed: G1A, G1B, G10C, G1D, G10H, G10J, G10L, G10M, MU50, MU59, G10P, G10U, G10X, CXX110, CXX20, CXX173, REN145P07, Mu51, Msut2, and CPH9.
Other interested concerns having the ability to furnish these services shall submit a capabilities statement to the Contracting Officer no later than the closing date of this announcement. All submissions will be evaluated to determine if competitive opportunities exist. This is NOT an RFQ. This does represent the Government's only written notice of this procurement. All responsible sources may submit a response which, if timely received, must be considered by the agency.
