The DNA Support Unit (DSU) is in the process of evaluating the MiSeq FGx, a Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) instrument manufactured by Illumina, Inc. The MiSeq FGx requires dedicated reagents and supplies to operate. These consumables are required both for preparation of DNA prior to MiSeq FGx sequencing and subsequent operation of the instrument, and they are critical in order for the DSU to continue its evaluation of NGS instruments. Without these consumables, the DSU will be unable thoroughly evaluate, validate, and implement the full range of NGS technologies.
The DSU needs to procure the following in support of its existing MiSeq FGx instruments:
• Nextera XT DNA Library Preparation Kit (96 samples), product number FC1311096
• TruSeq DNA PCRFree HT Kit, product number FC1213003
• TruSeq DNA PCRFree LT Library Prep Kit Set A, product number FC1213001
• Nextera XT Index Kit (96 indexes, 384 samples), product number FC1311002
• TruSeq DNA PCRFree LT library Prep Kit Set B, product number FC1213002
• TruSeq Nano LT Library Prep Kit Set B (24 samples), product number FC1214002
• TG ForenSeq DNA Signature Prep Kit, product number TG4501001
• MiSeq Reagent Kit v2, product number MS1022002
• TG MiSeq FGx Reagent Kit, product number TG1431001
• TruSeq Nano DNA HT Sample Prep Kit (96 samples), product number FC1214003
• TruSeq Nano LT Library Prep Kit Set A (24 samples), product number FC1214001
• MiSeq Reagent Kit v3, product number MS1023003
Based on market research, and Government end-users, it has been determined that Illumina, Inc. is the sole manufacturer and distributor of the MiSeq FGx instrument and its associated products and kits/reagents; therefore, they are the only company capable of providing the necessary consumables for these instruments.
