The FBI's Chemistry Unit (CU) has a requirement for a Gerstel Multipurpose Robotic Pro autosampler from Gerstel Inc. The CU requires a replacement system that is identical to the one being used for case work. The current system has validated analytical procedures established. Procuring the exact same system allows for consistent analysis throughout the unit. The CU's Standard operating procedure (SOP) in place is specific to the Gerstel system with proprietary operational software. The new proposed system must be in place with minimal interruption to casework
The following are the technical requirements:
• Capable of performing Liquid and Headspace injection, and easily upgradable to perform SPME analysis.
• Interface on an Agilent Gas Chromatograph/Mass Spectrometer with the proprietary functions of Prep Ahead/Multiple Sample Overlap for all applications including SPME, and the PrepBuilder feature for sample preparation
• XYZ robot based autosampler that provides everything needed to perform standard liquid and headspace injections.
• Include the Automated stirring features, Universal Syringe Module design, Heated agitator, Wash station, universal syringe holders for liquid and headspace syringes and tray for 1,2, 10 and 20 mL vials
• Controlled with Maestro software
Based on market research, and Government end-users, it has been determined that Gerstel Inc. is the manufacturer and sole source provider of the required Multipurpose Robotic Pro Autosampler.
This notice will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration's Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) Website (www.fedbizopps.gov). Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the FBO site to ensure they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. The FBI intends to negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Emailed responses will only be considered. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is at the discretion of the Government.
Vendors must be registered in SAM, effective July 29, 2012 to receive government contracts. The FBI uses a financial system that has a direct interface with SAM. Please ensure that your company's SAM information is updated and accurate. This includes TIN, EFT, DUNS, addresses and contact information. The EFT banking information on file in SAM will be what the FBI uses to process payment to your organization.
