The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) intends to award a non-competitive, sole source contract to TA Instruments, 159 Lukens Dr, New Castle, DE 19720 for ampoules. Services are being procured under FAR 13.5, Simplified Acquisition Procedures.

Sole-Source Justification - See Attached

The FBI requires ampoules for a FBI owned specialized Microcalorimeter manufactured by TA Instruments. TA Instruments is the sole manufacturer and provider of the ampoules that meet all of the technical requirements (See Sole-Source Justification) by the FBI, therefore is the only company that can meet the requirements of the FBI.

This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, interested parties may identify their interests and capability to respond to this requirement to this office by 08:00 am, ET, July 05, 2016, by email to the attention of Jerry Varnell, Contracting Officer, at [email protected]. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. Telephone requests will not be considered. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.

Vendors must be registered in SAM, effective July 29, 2012 to receive government contracts. The FBI uses a financial system that has a direct interface with SAM.
