The North American Classification System Code is 811219, Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing; the size standard is 750 employees.
The FBI Laboratory has a requirement for a one year maintenance agreement for its Agilent Robot. The Agilent system owned by the FBI fulfills the requirement to process the increased DNA samples being sent to the Federal DNA Database Unit for processing. To ensure this system is available and operating to fulfill the FCO and FBI Law Enforcement Support missions, the establishment of a preventive maintenance agreement is extremely critical in nature.
Agilent Technologies Incorporated is the manufactured of the FBI owned robot and service performed by someone other than Agilent would invalidate Agilent warranties. Agilent is the sole source for factory recommended replacement parts, Agilent's Proprietary software updates; Agilent factory authorized service representatives, and Agilent's proprietary factory recommended upgrades.
Based on market research conducted and contacts made with knowledgeable individuals within the government and related industry, it has been determined the FBI's requirement can only be provided by Agilent Technologies, as no other vendor is capable of providing the Agilent Seal that is needed for direct support of the FBI's mission.
