The 1st Special Operations Contracting Squadron at Hurlburt Field FL intends to award a Sole Source purchase order to L-3 Communications Corporation. Line item 0001- VORTEX Transceiver (Qty: 1), Line item 0002- COMSEC Module (Qty: 1). This award is unrestricted and is under North American Industry Classification System Code 334220 with a small business size standard of 750 employees. This sole source action is being accomplished under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i). The government believes that L-3 Communications Corporation is the only known source that has the patented, proprietary, commercial product and design expertise to provide VORTEX Transceiver and COMSEC Module. This notice is NOT a request for quote. However, interested companies shall submit to the contracting officer a brief capabilities statement package (no more than 10 pages in length, single spaced, 12 point font minimum) demonstrating ability to perform the requested services at or before 5:00 PM (central), 26 October 2012. Any information received will only be considered for the purpose of conducting a competitive procurement.
