This publication serves as notice of intent to procure supplies for the Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), Southwest Fisheries Science Center (SWFC) located in La Jolla, CA on a sole source basis with NET Systems Inc. The government intends to acquire services using FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Proposed contract is for purchase of following NET Systems brand equipment:

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has standardized on Nor'Eastern Trawl Systems and NET Systems brand doors and bridles. NMFS has to purchase the trawl net portion that has to be compatible with existing NET Systems brand equipment. The Nordic 264 trawl are used by all the NOAA science centers along the western coast of the United States and it has become the standard sampling tool for coastal pelagic fish stocks. NMFS must use same brand trawl nets for continuity of methodology and sampling. The Government intends to negotiate a firm fixed price contract with delivery date of no later than July 15, 2012. The North American Industry Classification System code for this acquisition is 314999 with a corresponding size standard of 500 employees. This notice represents the only official notice. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all submittals received by the due set forth in this notice will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This is a simplified acquisition. ****The Western Acquisition Division, requires that all contractors doing business with this Acquisition Office be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR) as of October 1, 2003.
