We are seeking vendors capable of meeting the minimum requirements listed below:
- qualified per 10CFR830.120, NQA1 or other equivalent quality program;
- to perform non destructive test(s), which may include borescope, ultrasonic and/or other process, to determine extent of any excessive, beyond normal corrosion in buried 4-6" coal tar epoxy lined, wrapped pipe. Data must provide wall thickness at random points. Lines in question, approximately 100 ft long, are 8-10ft below grade and are accessible from one end. Excavation is an option;
- to determine the coal liner separation mechanism from the pipe substrate (i.e. physical, chemical, biological, etc.) and determine the extent and mechanism of ongoing corrosion;
- to provide quantitative analysis of liner and water;
- to perform a time-phased physical and chemical analysis of coal tar that has been recovered from the system from approximately 1988 to 2008. The time-phased analysis periodicity should be proposed but should not be greater or less than every two years from the sample population unless technical justification is provided;
- to recommend technically sound and financially practical solutions to the coal tar separation and corrosion mechanisms;
- to document findings and proposed solution(s) in report format, including raw data and basis for selections;
- who has prior experience successfully executing a project similar to this project at either an NRC licensed facility or a Department of Energy nuclear facility.
- NOTE: This is a time-critical project. Time prioritization of individual tasks is possible.
interested parties shall submit the following information to the undersigned:
- Company name, address, telephone numbers and point of contact.
- company brochure showing ability to meet the requirements listed above.
- outline of the company quality assurance program showing ability to meet the quality assurance requirements noted above.
