This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12 Acquisition of Commercial Items, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. Solicitation number N00167-14-T-0081 applies and is hereby issued under Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Solicitation document is provided as an attachment. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 334513, with the size standard of $12M. The procurement is unrestricted. A firm-fixed price contract is anticipated. The anticipated award date is August 2014. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division (NSWCCD) intends to conduct a non-competitive procurement with Nikon Metrology Inc., located in Brighton, MI, 48116-8506. The requirement is replacement hardware for an existing NSWCCD Nikon Metrology's Indoor Global Positioning system (iGPS). The hardware is manufactured by  Nikon Metrology who maintains proprietary rights and has no authorized distributors. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals however all responsible sources may submit a capability statement or proposal, which shall be considered by the agency. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.  Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Interested parties can submit capabilities statements or questions to the point of contact located in block #5 of the solicitation document. All submissions received within seven(7) days from the publication date of this notice will be considered by the Government.
